Loving My Unity!

I did the Priceless layout for a challenge in and online group that I am a member of. The challenge was to use Brown, Red and Pink in a layout. You could use other colors- but those three had to be seen. I used pictures of Johnny and I from the Eye to Eye 2010 concert that we went to a few weeks ago. I used some striped paper from my stash ( I think it's Christmas paper) pink and brown and red cardstock is from Bazzil. I used some of my UNITY tree stamps. The first one is a single stamp- the other two are from a KOM- I think it was November or Decembers. Not really sure though. Forgot to look.
He is a close up of some of the journaling. I cracked myself up with my Visa commercial journaling. I also journaled around the edges of the pink cardstock.

This is a close up shot of my Now and Then LO( full picture just underneath this one). I used my SU! 3/4" circle punch for the circles- and added little pink and green dew drops every so often.

Here's the Now and Then- The pictures in this LO are of my youngest, Emma. She was 3 months, 2 years, and 10 years old in the pictures. Pink cardstock is Bazzil, printed paper is from the Prima Nursery Rhyme paper pack ( circles are also cut from Prima paper pack paper), I used white bling Thickers, dew drops, prima flowers,( and these really pretty see through flowers) all through the layout. Journaling stamp is from Untiy's February KOM.

Okay, this final layout has no stamps ( not even Unity) on it at all. But, it was part of what I created this weekend- and I like it. :) I did it for a black and white with a splash of color challenge. I used SU! printed cardstock- and regular carstock, pretty puffy brown thickers, prima cream colored flowers( inked brown), vintage buttons from my bff, brown and cream colored pearls from Michael's dollar section.
That's what I spent my weekend doing. It was a really nice change of pace. Though I am going pay for it tomorrow- as my house really suffered...and I'm going to have to "hitch up my big girl pants" and clean. Anyhow, thanks for stopping in. Hope you had a really nice weekend.

Unity- A Triangle Tri-fold Card

I made this triangle tri-fold card using my Unity KOM for February. Aren't these birdhouses and birds just TOO cute?
The sentiment says "miss hanging out with you". Papers are from the Angel Co. Images colored with my copic markers.

On a really happy note: Johnny and I went shopping this afternoon- and he bought me some sparklies. We went shopping for wedding bands- I told him that after being married for 17 years I wanted something sparkly. :) So, that's what I got. We have matching white gold bands- he didn't want sparkles though ( weird, huh? )! I'll take a picture of it later- when we have better lighting.

Thanks for visiting- I hope that your weekend is full of fun and creativity!

Altered Jumbo Clothespin Picture Holder

I finally finished altering this JUMBO clothespin yesterday. I've been working on it for a couple of days- it's difficult to find time for crafting when you have a sick child.

You can't tell from the front view- but, I painted the back, sides and inside of the clothes pin. I started out with a dark teal color. After it dried I added crackle medium. When it was tacky I painted over it with a tan color. The paint colors match the paper on the front of the clothespin nicely. The paper came from the DCWV paper stack ( linen Closet), I cut the letters out on my Cricut using the Jasmine Font cartridge. This was the first time I've used vinyl. I have to admit to another addiction! The Vinyl ROCKS and adds another dimension to your projects.{ Now, if I could only find some 12"X12" cutting mats for my Cricut. I have looked everywhere- and either they're all sold out OR no one is carrying them anymore. I even went online and looked and all I could find was either 6"X6" or 12"X24". I didn't want the smaller one so I went for the 12"X24" Which is HUGE. I guess I'm going to have to Google it and see if I can find a online store that carries the size I want.}

Here's a detail shot of the top: The flowers are felt and from SU! The button is from my stash and there are very light, clear blue-green dew drops in between each petal.

Another detail shot of the bottom- More buttons from my stash- I bought the twine from Papertrey ink.- I think it's the best for tying off buttons. :)

I just noticed the Starbucks cups in the first picture- how annoying. I thought I'd had moved everything out of the way when I took the picture. I was very busy that day with a sick child, and playing taxi service to my daughter and her friends... so, sorry about the cups. I guess it's just free advertising for Starbucks! :) My youngest daughter and I love their black iced tea. :)

So...thanks for stopping by- I'm off to give my little girl her medicine ( here pretty soon). Have a great week. Set some time out for yourself and do something crafty ( and fun)!

Emma @ 10

This layout was done as a challenge in Scrap Happy- an online scrapbooking group that I belong to. My layout looks pretty much like the sketch ( that we had to use). The only difference is that I used buttons and pearls as embellishments. This challenge was a bit out of my comfort zone- mostly because I had to cut the picture to make the layout split between the two pages. YIKES! I even did the journaling! Look at all that I wrote! I'm amazed- I usually do hidden journaling ( when I journal)- so this was a big step outside the box for me!

Here's a detail shot of the staggered and layered flowers, hearts, and circles on the first page. You can see where I used brown and cream colored pearls around the circles and some of the hearts- also I used twine in the button holes.
This is a detail shot of the heart and flower on the second page. You can see the detail with the button and the little pearls on the heart.

I used a Prima paper pack for all the prints- cardstock from my lss. Pearls came from Micheal's dollar section {love that!}, buttons came from my stash- the hearts and flowers were cut with my cricut- using the walk in my garden cart and the Doodlecharms cart for the hearts. The ribbon is from CTMH.

I need to take a break- and rest up some from last night. My husband and I went to the Elton John and Billy Joel concert ( I think they called it EYE to Eye 2010). I bought the tickets last April- the concert was originally supposed to happen November 7TH. However, Elton got sick with the H1N1 and some sort of food poisoning...poor guy, talk about a DOUBLE whammy! Anyhow, it was a great concert- I'll try and post what little pictures I was able to get- in the next couple of days. I'm really kicking myself for not bringing my Cannon Rebel DSL. But, I just didn't want the hassle of carrying it around- and we were all packed into the Key Arena like sardines! Thanks for stopping by. I hope you had a great weekend. Do you watch the Super Bowl? Did your team win? :)
