Halloween! Already?

Last night, while I was waiting for it to cool off- I found these Pumpkin carving pictures from 2007. I don't know why I haven't scrapped them- I printed them out with every intention of scrapping them. I guess once I had them- I lost the inspiration. What's really nice about saving them- is that I found the inspiration last night. FINALLY!! I used the DCWV paper pack....though, I have to tell you, I never thought I'd be using these particular pieces of paper ( especially together)-but, for whatever reason, they seem to work. I have been doing a lot of single pg. layouts recently ( not sure why- I usually prefer 2 pg. layouts ). I did some research ( in my Imagine book- by Jeanette Lynton) and found the perfect sketch.

Sadly, this was the only picture I had left of Linsea- but, that's okay as this layout will work for either one of her siblings.
Here's pg.2 of the layout- I just love this picture of Duncan. Honestly, that pumpkin looks almost as big as he is. I couldn't bear to trim the picture up- which is why I went looking for a sketch that would fit it.

Thanks for visiting. I hope you all are keeping cool- it's HOT here. So, I think I'll put the laptop away ( did you ever notice how much hotter it is when you have a laptop sitting on your lap? I even have one of those cooling pads underneath- and it really isn't helping much)- and work on a LO using pictures of our trip to Mt. St. Helen's with my BFF and her family ( several years ago ). I'm off to find just the right paper and embellishments ( I already have a sketch in mind) ! Have a fantastic day!

Some More Crafty Goodness-

I was in a crafty mood last night. I love it when that happens---especially when I have lots of crafty ideas floating around in my head. I made this card with SU! products- all CS, ribbon and stamps are from SU! This is the first time I've used this particular stamp set- it's called Pick A Petal. The sentiment comes form the Sweet Little Sentiments set. I used my Big shot with the texture plates and embossed the blue CS. You can't really tell in the picture, but I have added bling to some of the polka dots ( I tried to be random).

I also made this LO last night. I have to say- I am really pleased with the way it turned out. I used a sketch from a book called {a photos-first approach to }
DESIGNING LAYOUTS ( by Donna Downey). Though, I did put my own touches to it- the buttons up in the top left hand corner ( of the pictures), the big red flower ( Prima) on the bottom with the year- and I drew lines around everything. I've seen this technique done but this is the first time I've tried it myself. It was actually difficult for me-mostly because I want everything to be a straight line. Now, that I've done the lines for myself- I really like the way it looks. On the dk.blue cardstock( SU) I used a white sharpie pen, the black ink is a black scrap writer pen. The letters are from a package of Cuttlebug Fonts- called "You're Not The Boss of Me". They were on sale at Michael's last night. How could I resist them after that title? The Bonus is I really like the font.:)

These next 2 Layouts I made on Thursday night. I was feeling crafty then too- but I didn't have access to the computer ( I was going to use a sketch from one of my online groups) so, I just decided to wing it. I used the same basic LO- just tweaked them by changing where I put the pictures. I roughed up most of the edges with my edge distresser ( on the Fun in the Sun LO)- then I outlined them several times with my white sharpie- I also outlined the title- I think it makes it stand out. I used my Unity stamp set {Beach Days and Sun Rays} for all the cute little sub-titles- and the fish.

I used re-takes of my nieces 16TH b-day pictures for this LO. I am much happier with these pictures. On this LO I used my Unity stamps {Stylin' Stars} and the bird from July's KOTM. Paper is from my stash- and I can't remember what it's called. I created the title with thickers- brown puffy ones and dk.pink bling ones.I also used liquid glass ( CTMH) on some of the stars and circles to make them POP.

That's it for this BURST of creativity. I hope to be able to create some more- soon. But, you never know when the creativity IMP is going to strike. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you get to do something you enjoy this weekend.

Stay cool- I'm hoping to do so- living in Washington as we do, we don't have central air in our house ( I will NEVER understand why this is...it does get HOT here and the weather has changed a lot over the last 10 years)..So, staying cool might be difficult to achieve. It's supposed to be a SCORCHER for the next 5 days or so. BLECH.

A Mini Album & A Random Layout-

These were some projects I finished on July 7TH. Life was very hectic and I didn't make the opportunity to post these until today. The first set of pictures is a LO I created using the pictures I took of Linsea and Taryn on June 27TH. I used my Cricut to cut out the circles and the camera. The flowers are Floradoodles, the CS is from SU! and Bazill. The Printed Paper is from Michael's. The quote stamp is from Unity Stamps.

I was feeling motivated..and I used the some of the same pictures for this mini album. I used 3X4" clip board wood and "O" wires from the Zutter CO. The paper is from my LSS. It's called BLOOM and GROW from My Mind's Eye. I used this paper on the Sweet 16 Album for Taryn ( Which she Loved! GO ME! )...It's a really great line.

That's it for today. I have some more layouts to post tomorrow- I didn't want to put them all in one post- it seemed a bit too overwhelming to me.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope your week was calm and enjoyable...and I hope you all get to do something fun this weekend.

More Handmade Notebooks-

I love these little notebooks. In fact, I can't stress enough HOW EASY they are to make. I like them so much that this is my second post about them! :) In case you've forgotten, or can't find the other post----> Here's where I found the tutorial for them :

http://scrap-ements.blogspot.com/ I hope you stop by and take a look for yourself.
I tweaked the measurements a bit with the second one- it's a bit bigger. Here are the measurements for it.

* For the inside pgs. cut 10-12 pieces of cardstock at 8"X6.5"- fold all pieces in half.
*For the cover ( your printed cardstock, or double sided cardstock) Cut at 8.5"X6.5" Then score at 4" and again at 4.5"

Don't forget to stop by the scrap-elements blog for the full tutorial! She's awesome. :)

These little notebooks will make really great stocking stuffers for Christmas----> and great gifts to personalize for teachers.

Thanks for dropping in, I am glad that I had something creative to share with you! have a fantastic week and if I don't post again before the 4TH ----Have a Happy and Patriotic Forth of July! AS Lee Greenwood would say....."GOD BLESS THE USA."
