A Homemade Obsession & A Birthday Card For My FIL

These little notebooks are so cute and SUPER easy to make. The entire notebook is handmade. I got the idea ( and the directions) from a Great Blog: http://scrap-ements.blogspot.com/ You should stop by and take a look! All paper and stamps are from SU!

My FIL'S birthday is June 3 ( so I am running late getting it to him)..and Johnny asked if I would make him a birthday card. This is what I came up with..it's difficult to make masculine cards. The paper and image are from SU!

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you're weekend was fun and filled with lots of scrappy goodness!

Friendship Coffee Sleeve MIni Album

This was a challenge posted by my bff ( Kathryn) in Scrap Happy this past weekend. We were to use a coffee sleeve and make a mini album out of it. Now, since I didn't have any pictures that would work ( size-wise) I decided to turn it into a friendship book..with lots of quotes about friendship ( and coffee..it seemed fitting). I will be sending it to Kathryn sometime in the next week or so.

First quote: " A true friend is someone who thinks you're a good egg even though he knows you're slightly cracked" ~ Bernard Meltzer
Second quote: "What is a friend? A single soul dwelling in two bodies." ~Aristotle

Third quote: " A friend hears the song in my heart and sings it to me when my memory fails." ~ Anonymous
Fourth quote: " Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, what! You too? I thought I was the only one. " ~C.S. Lewis

Fifth quote: " A good friend remembers what we were and sees what we can be." ~Anonymous
Sixth quote:"A friend may well be reckoned the masterpiece of nature." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Seventh quote: " Friends are the chocolate chips in the cookie of life." ~Anonymous
Eighth quote: " A cup of coffee commits one to 40 years of friendship." ~Turkish Proverb

Nineth quote: " Friends are those rare people who ask how you are and then wait to hear the answer." ~Anonymous
Tenth quote: " A cup of cooffe shared with a friend is happiness tasted and time well spent." ~Anonymous
So that's it. That's the album. I think it turned out really cute...though, the friendship quotes don't express exactly what her friendship has meant to me..
Thanks for stopping by and I hope your weekend is full of crafty goodness! :)

I got my First Unity Stamps KOM and this is what I made!

The first LO is for a challenge using just a one word title. My girls had a creative day on Sat. so while they were busily making mini albums I snapped some cute Pictures! The little pink piece of paper on the left side is a journaling- type stamp from Unity's May kit.
This LO was done as a challenge to use Large Punctuation..I used a Large question mark ( 5"). Scrapped on this LO is the day we went to see the Budgies..and they wouldn't fly down for a snack.

Here's the stamp I used on the Budgie LO..it seemed fitting.

Finally, here's the birthday card I made for another challenge yesterday. All stamps were made with the Unity May KOM. I am really, really liking the Unity KOM!!

Slumber Party Invitations

This year my daughter wants to do a sleep over for her birthday. As her birthday is June 28 and after school gets out she'll be hosting it a few weeks early. So, D day is Sat. June 6Th. Yikes! The thought of having 4 other 14 year old girls having the run of my house leaves me in terror!
These are the invitations I made for the event. I used this Hanna Slumber Party set by Hanna Stamps ( www.hannastamps.com You should shop there , They ROCK!). I colored the images with my copic markers. In case you can't tell..the square image in the bottom right corner is a pillow. :)
I made the envelope using a SU envelope template. The ribbon is from Michaels and the paper is Penny Lane from My Minds Eye ( I bought it at my LSS).

This is the pull out with all the info on it. I wasn't thinking when I typed it all out on the computer..that's why you see the little pieces of green cardstock covering the pertinent details. :) I use one of my fonts from SU! To do the inside of the invitations.
I really like how they turned out..but, more importantly, Linsea likes them. :)
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you're all having a fun , crafty week!

10 Things...

This LO is based on a challenge in Scrap Happy. We had to have 2 different pieces of printed paper a list of 10 things..and I bracket ( which I forgot).
It was a challenge to come up with only 10 things..as you can tell..I wrote and wrote and wrote. My list took up so much space that I had to re-vamp part of the LO.
The letters are Thickers.

I added bling in green and pink at the ends of each
statement.
I had a tough time with this layout. Mostly because I didn't want to be brief with my journaling..and I wasn't sure how I was going to work the heart. I like the way I incorporated it though. I use the Cricut to cut the heart out. The cart. I used is called Graphically Speaking.

At The Beach

While I was surfing this afternoon I came across this tutorial on making a coaster mini album..I found it here http://scraptasticdesigns.blogspot.com/
As always, Shemaine does a fantastic job. Anyhow, I was inspired to do one for myself. I LOVE making mini albums. I might need a 12 step program. :)
These pictures are from the couple times we went to Ocean Shores..At first I wasn't going to use beach pictures for this mini album..but, I couldn't find any other pictures that worked better.

I hope you'll be inspired by Shemaine's tutorial and give it a shot. These are really very quick and easy to make...and they make terrific gifts! Have an awesome week.

An Early Morning Trip The Zoo and Altered Notebooks

Early this morning the kids and I headed to the Pt. Defiance Zoo to see the new Budgies. They were so colorful and fast! I can't believe how fast they'd do those little flybys while they were scoping out the food!
Sadly, they didn't seem to interested in all the food sticks. Must be because today was opening day and they had to have been nervous. We'll have to try again later this summer and see if it's any better.

Monday is My son's last day of Home base..he attends classes there one day a week. I was feeling inspired this afternoon so I altered a couple of notebooks for his teacher and the lady that runs Home base. All the DP is from SU! Various ribbon from Micheal's.
I have to say that I'm addicted to these little altered notebooks. I guess I'll have to head out to Michael's in the morning and grab some more from the dollar bins. :)

These are a few of our pictures from Spring Break ( 2009). We took the kids to California. We stayed with my sister and spent 2 days at Disney Land. On our way down ( We live in Washington) we took the scenic coastal route..which takes a lot longer..but it's so beautiful...even with the snow ( YES! It snowed a bit in Washington and Oregon) and rain. We had a really good time..and the kids were SUPER good ( we had 4 of them in our mini van! ).
